American Black Journal (ABJ), produced by WTVS Detroit Public Television, is one of America's longest-running locally produced series, premiering in 1968.Today, American Black Journal continues to be a vibrant and provocative forum for newsmakers, celebrities and everyday people.With nearly 40 years of weekly programs, American Black Journal is a window into American history. Guests such as Bishop Desmond Tutu, Roots author Alex Haley, and former Detroit Mayor Coleman A. Young have given us a fascinating glimpse into African American history, politics and culture.
